We do not run advertising or analytics trackers, so there is no consent banner to dismiss. Here is the complete list of what we set.
The cookies we use
fuo_at— your access token, which keeps you signed in. Expires after 15 minutes.fuo_rt— your refresh token, which quietly issues a new access token so you are not signed out every quarter of an hour. Expires after 30 days.fuo-theme— remembers whether you chose light, dark or system appearance. Expires after 1 year.
The two session cookies are httpOnly, meaning JavaScript cannot read them — that is what stops a cross-site scripting bug from stealing your session. They are also SameSite=Lax, so they are not sent when another website makes a request to us.
All three are strictly necessary or directly set by your own choice. None of them are shared with third parties, and none follow you to other websites.
Local storage
We store your theme preference in local storage as well as a cookie, so the correct theme is applied before the page paints and you do not see a white flash.
Turning them off
You can block cookies in your browser, but the session cookies are what keep you signed in — without them you will not be able to use an account. The theme cookie is safe to block; you will just get the system default each time.
